Are you a Quality Assurance Manager looking for a new challenege. At our Kerry Foods Shillelagh site, we are looking for a QA Manager to manage the team and provide skilled technical support to the quality team, production streams and any other functions. This role reports directly into the Technical Manager on site. Shillelagh is home to our Meat's business and is our centre of excellence within the technology. Your responsbilities as a QA Manager shall include: Technical Manager Deputy. Step in to cover for the Technical Manager in the event of absence, travel or as representation during required meetings or visits. High Performing Teams (Build Sustainability Through People. Lead the team to ensure they are engaged and high performing with a focus on problem solving and team work. Build trust through effective leadership and the skilled application of people management processes and open two way communications. Following standard procedure: Recruit and select the right team members. Induct new members into the team. Build team skills through skills assessment, training, feedback and support. Manage on-going performance of direct reports. Identify those who have the interest and ability to progress into bigger or different roles and facilitate this through agreed procedures. Manage grievance and disciplinary issues as required with the support of HR as necessary. Factory Based Technical Support. Management of QAGL's, through supporting, challenging and developing processes to ensure compliance to KFMS and retailer/regulatory standards. Continuous improvement of factory based standards and fabrications standards. QSHE. Implementation of QSHE and compliance auditor ownership through QAGL roles. To support, challenge and develop QSHE through Production Streams, ensuring metrics are representative of factory standards. Standard Confirmation. Check that standards set within the Quality function are adhered to through layered confirmation. Standardisation. To roll out the implementation of any new Kerry Foods/Retailer codes of practice, policies or standards which have been assessed by the Quality Systems team. Ensuring these are embedded into new or existing procedures through the use of gap analysis where required and managing the close out of any gaps, e.g. KFMS, TFMS, BRC, etc. Manage Factory Audits. Lead out the Quality Assurance section of any external audits on site. To verify compliance against defined standards and codes of practice. Also manage the customer/3rd party audit process as it relates to factory aspects. Management of any traceability requirements on site. Incident Investigations. Manage the resolution and close out of issues/incidents which have been identified as part of the audit process. Key activities will include providing guidance and support to the Compliance auditors, Production Stream and other functions to ensure issues are risk assessed as necessary and appropriate corrective/preventative actions identified. Project Management. To engage in site projects as a team member on the projects or as a Project Manager. The projects can include launches, continuous improvements or technical initiatives. The type of person we are looking for must have these skills: Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject. Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills. Fluency of English language. Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data. Relevant experience in a Food. Manufacturing operation. Experience of managing a team. Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing. Proficient in the use of MS Office tools. Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems. Understanding of key elements of the product launch process.
