We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner in our Shillelagh site. Reporting into the Planning & Scheduling Lead. As the Production Planner you will be responsible for developing a daily/weekly production plan for each production stream, which it can be scheduled/sequenced appropriately and which will meet stock levels to optimise defined service level at the lowest cost. Production Planning. Plan and create production orders to fulfil the customer demand (i.e. meet all forecast) on a weekly / daily basis for each production stream at lowest cost: Incl. consume vs. additive forecast decisions. Where production cannot meet demand allocate product based on agreed rules laid down within the S&OP process. Release Production Plan. Release Production Plan weekly / daily (site dependent) for frozen horizon in daily buckets Where daily orders exceed forecast determine ability to supply, make changes to production plan accordingly and provide feedback to supply planning on: Confirmation that demand can / cannot be met. Root cause analysis and feedback on actions taken. Escalate to where decision (cost sign-off) can be taken. Amend Production Plan. Execute the exceptional demand management process on the site: Assessment of available capacity at production site and impact (financial and other) of the additional volume. Collaborates with material call off team to ensure raw materials can be sourced (where outside agreed business terms. Communication Channels. Responsible for communicating with the relevant Supply and Inventory Planner on up to date capacity parameters, accounting for sustainable OEE figures etc. Execute Continuous Improvement. Continuously improve standards set by executing 8 Step Practical Problem Solving and other KPS methodologies as appropriate. Requirements: Educated to 2nd level or equivalent (JC/GCSE Level),including maths & English. 3rd level qualification in a supply chain discipline is an advantage, Must have relevant experience in production planning and or scheduling activities within a manufacturing environment. Proficient written and verbal skills. Proficient Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data. Must have a robust working knowledge / experience in working with ERP based systems, planning systems. Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing. SAP experience would be an advantage. Knowledge and experience of AP / AS would be an advantage, similar scheduling tools of planning methods on OEE / #KFERP. This job originally appeared on RecruitIreland.com.
