Description

Research and Development Manager - Wicklow. Our leading biotechnology client is looking for someone tomanage the Tech Support and R&D Team and related projects on their site in Wicklow. Responsibilities: Leadership and management of the Tech Support and R&D Team and projects. Identification of product engineering and product development projects in both the infectious diseases and clinical chemistry product families. Project management of multiple projects / project teams. Work closely with the Tech Support and R&D Team team to increase individual’s technical knowledge. Be an active learner and self-motivator, and consistently seek to attain a higher level of knowledge and experience in In-vitro Diagnostics. Participate in management cross functional meetings and work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Validation, Quality Assurance and Control, Customer Service and Marketing to identify specific process/product improvements. Participate in business reviews on a quarterly basis. Facilitate the resolution of technical issues by leading, designing and executing root cause investigations in a timely manner. Be proactive in problem identification and process improvement by trending of manufacturing data and monitoring ongoing robustness of products. Ensure the timely generation and completion of necessary technical reports and justifications, and facilitate the efficient completion and closure of documents including NCMRs, Change Controls, CAPAs etc. Have the ability and commitment to work to deadlines as part of a team. Show a full commitment to Trinity Biotech Quality policy and adhere to the quality system and training given at Trinity Biotech. Assist in the transfer of new products from R&D or third parties to production. Review, revise, and create documentation as requested. Requirements: Educated in Biological sciences, Chemistry or similar is essential. (Post doc' preferred. 5+ years experience within the IVD industry, with proven extensive laboratory experience in In Vitro Diagnostics is essential. Experience in a wide range of immunoassay technologies is ideal with emphasis on protein purification, protein quality analysis, and protein conjugation. Problem-solving and creativity in resolving product or process problems for IVD or similar products. Knowledge of statistical concepts including Design of Experiments . Experience in FDA / HPRA Regulatory requirements . Proven experience in working in managerial cross functional teams. The ability to design, execute, analyze, and interpret experimental work.
